Memories On The Edge
Memories On The Edge
Cuddling the couch of nostalgia
My words decided to voyage today...
Down the memory lane, across that lonely road,
With Sullen eyes, bleeding feet and surrendering dreams,
First met distorted youth;
Caught in mazes of challenging zephyrs and
Hasty smokes of cigarettes,
All I could see was helplessness,
A shrill cry for help;
Once I could see a star-studded night
reflected in your eyes
But now, it's just
A weeping heart with brittle fate
Sinking in the ocean of nothingness;
Jettisoning the baggage past
Along came teenage,
With Dimpled simple, braided hair and pink lipstick,
Fluttering like a butterfly across the sun-kissed banks of love
There hope, there's a promise, above all there is
A rendezvous to touch the sky;
A little further my words rested
Into the tip of a wispy finger, curly head, brilliant eyes
Trailing the sky, weaving a future
Heralding an era of flamboyant effervescence;
"Mesmerizing future in a child's eye often ends in a shadowy silhouette of youth"
