Memoirs of Yesterday
Memoirs of Yesterday
My mind and heart together are
A wonderful thing, making magic.
Like clouds pouring rain -
At the same time, sad and ecstatic.
I sit at the same spot still,
Maybe you recall.
You first touched my lips here,
And we then went to the beaches and malls
Sunset was golden that day,
Much like the smell of your hair
And today I'm thirsty to have a look at you,
It no more seems fair.
You're seemingly smiling in someone else's arms now
But my eyes conjure you all day, all night
It breaks me, like shattered beer bottles.
And I can't anymore see those rays of light.
And in place of letting my wrists cut and bleed
I pray on my knees that my ink does what it might.
