Marriage

When I think of marriage

It frightens me a little

It's an institution

That some say is perfect

Others say it's a prison

I don't know why

But I do know that

For better or for worse

It's a companionship

That can either break your heart

Or fill it with love

It all depends on the promises

You make and the trust

You have on your wedding day

Wedding rituals are of the essence,

they're a symbol of hope.

The red vermillion,

Garlands of marigolds & roses,

Holy fire, seven vows of marriage,

they all represent hope.

The hope that it will last

Who knows what will happen

In the end.
