A smile to all, a frown to none,

A heart so pure, so filled with love.

You made us feel your presence, dear,

Your lovely smile, your listening ear.

Your cheering words, your helping hands,

You were there at every stand.

At your side, they stood and wept,

 Asking God why you, He swept.

He had plans known to none,

You fought a battle, a battle you won.

Students, Faculty, Neighbours, and Friends

Beat their breast, lamenting your end.

They said you helped them in their strife,

Prayed, counselled and soothed their lives

You showed us, Marie, what love could do,

Hindus, Muslims, Christians came to you.

Meticulous, cheerful, kindhearted and talented,

Song, dance, lyrics oriented.

On birthdays and funerals, your talent showed,

Touching words, catchy tunes.

 

Dancing shoes, you crooned and danced,

Entertaining the masses despite your stance.

You left us Marie, proud to be,

Related to you on our family tree

Your spirited laughter, your enthusiastic presence,

Will be remembered now in your absence.
