Loving You
Loving You
I still remember the day
I fell in love with you,
It's carved in my memory,
Like an engraving on a stone,
Clear and forever.
It's been years, we have been together,
In each others arms,
And much wanted company.
They say, romance fades with time,
Love wanes,
But, ours has grown with time,
Become more mature and much more deep.
For, we never saw each other
As mere companions, or as a couple,
For a lifetime,
We both knew that we have been
Companions of all those lifetimes
Which we do not remember,
Which, however, our old souls do feel.
That simple red rose
Which had put a smile to your face,
The first time I gave it to you,
Manages to put a bright smile
On your face, even today,
After these long years of eternal bliss.
And trust me, my dear,
I shall not have it any other way,
For your smile is etched on my soul,
And there it shall stay,
Till infinity.
For loving you, all these years
Was not my choice,
It was, my necessity, and
It always shall be.
