Love

Love, what is it? 

A feeling or a thing, 

A roof to keep you safe, 

Or the foundation a woman builds her life on,

A doorway to happiness,

Or the window the widow looks out of retrospectively,

The contrast of emotions, 

The hatred in the eyes of a scorned lover,

Or the love in the smile of a mother,

They say in the name of love, 

But love goes by many names,

Money, lust, security, companionship,

They say love conquers all,

It did not conquer the Titanic, 

Nor the poison laying in the bellies of the lovers laying in a tomb

Between the pages of Romeo and Juliet,

It can not even bring the deceased back, 

When you love well you easily get lovesick,

A disease that causes you to put love above all, 

No wonder we rise from hate but when it's love, we fall.
