Love
Love
They say that love is shown in large displays of affection
In buying each other roses and chocolates
Telling them you love them over and over
Holding hands wherever they go
To me, love exists in those little spaces
Where no big shows or roses exist
When my favorite food is made
And I’m having a particularly bad day
In the chocolates kept ready for me
When I need them the most
In the softest hugs that I’m wrapped in
Without it being asked for
When we text each other all night
Despite having nothing to say
To me, lovelies in the smallest of things
Unnoticed by most, and often left alone
To me, love is the most silent of expressions
Yet the most beautiful of them all.
