Life In A Bubble
Life In A Bubble
Life encased in a bubble
Full of dreams and hopes,
Floated in the gentle breeze,
Up above the dust and sweat of the earth,
Time seemed to remain in an eternal freeze.
In the blue expanse of an indulgent sky,
The stars kept on glittering in the eye.
Wishes galloped all around,
Feet seldom touched the ground.
Hey there! The little bird would say,
Come with me, let us play.
Wings fluttered
Games played in flight,
Never knew
What lied beyond the dreamy sight.
The bubble soared high and high,
In the dream's boundless sky,
Till the day the sun shone bright,
And let the truth to come to light.
Reality dawned and took back place,
Sighs of despair filled the space.
The house of mirrors cracked to floor,
Air to breathe was left no more.
And laden by the tears and pain,
Of broken dreams and wishes vain,
The bubble failed to float any more,
Tumbled over the rails of thirteenth floor.
Breathless it came crashing down
Till it finally reached the ground.
The ambulance came and picked
The mangled flesh and broken bones,
Leaving the spilled blood on the ground
With aborted dreams and fallen hopes.
The dark red blood clotted
And clutched the ground,
In a final bid to stick around
And made it hard for
Housemaid’s broom to drain it down.
A red hibiscus flower
Standing by the courtyard wall,
Which bore the lone witness to the scene of fall,
Stayed half-mast in mourning for the departed soul
That refused to live a life less-than-full, unlike all.
