Let Go

Sometimes I see our chosen places

The tender touches and sweet moments

I miss them, feel that ache tear apart

Search for you within my beating heart

There are moments of panic

When I wonder at what I have lost

Is this all we had in store ?

Will I regret this choice when I have it no more

Breaking apart and coming together

More pieces broken, wider the chasm

One day even the shattered fragments

Shall cease to make any sense

Stolen hours, hidden passages

Too afraid to give, unwilling to receive

Can this be our life somehow

Unable to stay, unable to let go

Our choices were never meant to be easy

Why yet do we cling together

To paths not meant to cross

To a broken branch, a lost cause?
