Moving On
Moving On
The words they still flow,
Evocative of the anger, the hurt, the unease
But while, once the soul burnt and charred,
Today they are but mere ashes scattering in the breeze
Searching within the heart
For that all consuming emotion, the flaring passion
The tumultuous rage that swallowed reality
Blotting sense and every reason
But finding in its place
A faint reflection
Of memories tepid
Of what once was, a warm recollection
This moment of truth
Ignorant if it was relief
At having finally let gone
Of the enduring grief
Or was there a disappointment
Lurking beneath that belief
That one has lost the sole, guiding force
To Time, the ultimate thief
Perhaps all one needs is acceptance
Of feelings that die, evolve, take birth
Fed by the elements of nature
They too adapt like life on a parched, dry earth
Nothing is permanent, nothing lasts
The sobs that leave you broken and torn
May leave you scarred, but heal it will
When you realize that the hurt is not yours alone
One day you shall find a reason anew
To fall again in love, to be reborn
Once again to dance in the rain
Cos' life and love, they move on..
