Closure

We walked till the waves played a rhythm

Over our dancing feet

Till our entwined fingers 

Spun new stories at every touch

Till our eyes spilled over

With dreams that kept us alive

You sang best the tunes of my heart

Your words were the music

That gave me company in solitude

There was meaning, even in your glance

Maybe it was transient, but it was true

It was enough as long as I knew I had you

Tell me what changed

That we could not find our forever

Why did I ever believe

Our destinations could be the same

Our footprints, I could never find

But again, we never chose to leave it behind

My idle wandering thoughts

Take me to a lost paradise

Where our love meant something

I hardly recognize

But now even the heart has realized

Nostalgia is merely colourful lies

My every moment is tinged in your colours

Your smiles, your laughter

Yet your name stays within my lips

Like a suppressed sigh

With each day, we turn into mere

Strangers that once passed by

Emotions too fragile

Cloaked with lies

When hearts are too shallow

To feel the depth in the eyes

When two souls are so out of tune

No song will suffice

Did love slip away quietly

As softly as it had once arrived, unwelcome

This time although, it seems too worn out to respond

In its indifference, 

Have we finally find our closure

Our restless heart, is it silenced?
