Phoenix
Phoenix
Those night falls were prowling
with a desire to delve me in,
while digging out the regrets, my own
fingers bled black blood; torn skin flapping
as loose sheets. Dark voices like waves
rise and fell within me, with ashes covering my
breaths I could not wait
for the darkest hour
to come and deprive me
of the final redemption.
To the hands those kept pushing a war
against me, I rebelled. But my heart
that was built of magma, did not burst
still and the dark engulfed the fire.
