Is There Non-Violence?
Is There Non-Violence?
Can we seek non-violence
For the sake of rejecting violence?
‘violence’ and ‘non-violence’ being just the words
With both mutually opposing,
Can we ever find non-violence in reality?
People who wish to practice non-violence strictly
Have continued with their routine ways of violence
Non-violence being only said verbally, read in books
And wished in mind, has been a beautiful but imaginary endeavor
For the purpose of hiding our violent living;
Are we aware of how non-violence could be in reality?
Having decided to practice it and desired to get recognized
As staunch followers of non-violence, we can never stop the violence;
We may try to slightly minimize or make some deviation from
Our ways of violence thereby deriving some gratification from it
But we continue to live by being attached to our violent ways;
The true meaning of non-violence is not to indulge in violence;
But it doesn’t mean that one may cause violence
By using abusive words instead of physically injuring on others
Non-violence means one must not indulge in violence
Through physical, words or deeds, either on oneself or on others,
Which is possible only when one is fully aware of his violent ways;
There is no use in just continuing to live by seeking non-violence
And no one else may be benefitted by doing so whatsoever
There is no point in finding an opposite word to every word
And use such words as our trump card to promote our corrupt life,
And instead, we must accept both within and openly
That we are actually living a life that is full of violence.
