Bad time left

The dark sky was clear

All over India

There was and cheer

The British left India

We succeeded in our mission

But sadness was over again

By the act of Partition

Many left their houses

This had made them cry

By the thought of leaving the country

Many opted to die

The citizens were forced to

Leave their family’s hand

Very sadly they had to

Leave their motherland

15^th August 1947 was the day

With a free and happy condition

But the thought of unity shattered
