I Am What I Am

Sometimes in life, 

You feel you are alone

 To fight the tide,

 With no one by your side.

 People are quick to take credit,

But never to take responsibility,

They can only criticize;

But never appreciate  

Who you are.

You spend your life,

In hope of hearing praise,

But nothing you do ;

Is ever good enough.

They expect you to get defeated 

So they can laugh, 

But if you succeed ;

They will just brush you off.

They will remind you with pride,

A girl must be seen but not heard,

And as soon you raise your voice ;

You will be labeled as spoilt for life.

Why do I care for your opinion,

When you are not the one ;

Who lend me your shoulder to cry,

Neither wiped my tears ;

When you were busy backbiting,

And I was struggling :

So what if I choose to turn??

I am what I am,

For better or worse ;

Only time will decide,

And no one else can !!
