Holi
Holi
The dark, the fair.
The poor, the rich.
Men and women,
the young and old,
are children of One God.
With the arrival of spring,
the festivities ring in,
inviting all to dance and sing.
Sprinkling colors, smearing faces, of many a few,
with colors of different hues.
Burying their hatchets,
forgiving and forgetting their verbal slashes,
beginning their lives anew.
The yellow divine, on faces shine,
the blue of the ocean, and the green of vegetation.
shows a calm, but,
vibrant indication.
The red and the pink, are bold,
in the colors, behold.
The hatred, the anger,
is burnt, in the fire.
Uniting all.
Whisking away the Winter, the Fall.
Once again set rolling the ball.
This merrymaking is the
wonderous building
of relations, otherwise sinking.
The ship of friendship,
once again flagged off sailing,
on a smooth voyage.
The sharing, the loving,
moves life ,,
The burst of colors paints the sky,
lifting your spirits high,
can you deny ?
Again biding adieu to enmity,
Restoring human fraternity.
This is the festival HOLI of our Nation.
Celebrated with jubilation.
