Holi's History and Celebration

Holi's History and Celebration

Holi is a day,

That makes the year phenomenal.

Without Holi,

To live, the 365.6 days, is almost impossible.

The person who observed Holi,

Is the ruler Ranjit Singh.

This is a festival that is Holy,

This ruler was indeed a great and famous king.

In mythology,

It was started by Krishna.

He was a deity,

Who was as white and pure as vanilla.

Holi celebrates the spring's arrival,

And it also represents the victory,

Of good.

Over evil.

Holi is a unique festival,

It consists of many and not one colour.

Making our life more pretty,

And not duller.

The red colour represents,

Love and fertility,

While yellow represents turmeric,

Which is a natural remedy.

Purple can symbolize magic and mystery,

Pink for caring and compassion.

Pink is loved by most of the girls,

It is their main attraction.

Due to the colour difference between Krishna and Radha,

He thought the she wouldn't talk,

His mother told him to use colours,

And they did not look different at all!

The word Holi comes from Hola,

Which means to offer prayers to god for good harvest,

Lets keep Corona in mind, and not play Holi,

And be honest.

Mythologically the word Holi comes from Holika,

The sister of a demon king,

To kill his younger son,

He thought many ways, wrinkling.

Holika was burnt,

With the help of Lord Vishnu

The Narasimha Avatar,

Even killed the demon king, Hiranyakashipu.

This is a nice festival,

It is mentioned in the Puranas and Dasakumara Charita,

This festival is also mentioned in the Sanskrit drama Ratnavali,

And also by the Sanskrit Poet Kalidasa.

There is also a special feast,

Gujiya is also a sweet,

That on this day,

We can eat.

A refreshing traditional glass of Thandai,

Is a custom drink.

It is a refreshing drink made of dry fruits, a few spices and seeds,

No time to think.

This is the last paragraph,

There is a lot more to describe.

But these are the main things,

Others take loads of time.
