Fearless Wings
Fearless Wings
I was a caterpillar,
Content just munching on leaves all day.
With neither purpose, nor destination.
Then came the fragrance of nectar like dope,
Bringing with it a tiny spark of hope-
That maybe I was made for more.
Suddenly, the green and brown
weren't so gratifying.
I yearned to fly through the spectrum
of colours so sanctifying-
From the hue of amber,
To the blast of lavender.
That spark- I was ready to blindly follow,
As far and wide as the universe would allow.
For, I'd rather be the butterfly
that died in the conquest of nectar,
Than be the caterpillar
that never dared to fly.
