Fading Footprints

Playing on the seashore,

Kicking and shaping castles,

Enjoying the child in me...

Footprints in sands,

Started shifting from the seashore into the deep ocean.

Purposeful and deep,

Days, weeks, months and into years;

Greying day by day.

Dullness in the skin,

The sinking of eyes,

Swiftly, gently flying along the wings of time.

Into the vast ocean of experience, I dive.

Sweet, bitter at times

Nerve shaking, never revisiting the same.
