Dream Catcher

Dream Catcher

I take the dream catcher

I play with its strings

I turn it upside down

Let's see now what it brings.

I had seen the dream catcher

With faith for years so long

Now I look into it

To hear its delayed song.

I see only strings

And some feathers flying along

I tear each string apart

And put my face between the ring

The song which it never sang

I try for me to sing

I hum and rhyme and sing so fine

I see bubbles flying to me

I prick one and then another

Dancing and singing with glee.

Out of the bubbles come dreams so fine

Of many an autumn and spring

I see the torn strings

As mute as they had always been

As I be my dream catcher

To catch my dreams begin.
