Demise

I was engaged to him

For almost a year.

He went away abroad

For business soon after.

We had a long-distance relationship,

And enjoyed it thoroughly.

Before he boarded the flight

To return for our wedding,

He promised to give me

The most beautiful gift.

I met him at the hospital

Seven hours later

Where he was admitted

After his cab had an accident.

He looked at me

With his tear-filled eyes;

"Mobile," he mumbled

Through his teeth.

I kissed him on the head

And wrapped him in my arms.

He breathed his last

Engulfed in my embrace,

And I just walked out

Without turning back once.

The receptionist gave me

All of his belongings.

I took his mobile phone

Entered the password - my name

And opened the gallery

Which had a picture.

A picture which said that

The new property was in my name.

He left me

He left his all for me

He took my all with him

He was my all.
