Drama Tragedy

Dear Mother

Dear Mother

Oh, mother,

Your smile disappeared,

As your children thrived,

Saw numerous sufferings and trouble,

You don't react anymore,

Sentenced by other,

Content on living the unhappy tale,

Believes you couldn't be happier in hindsight,

Fading in the ignorance of your child,

Isolated, you spend time,

Worrying about their food

And still caring for the sleep of your son,

Doesn't utter a word about your lonely routine,

Stuck being a mother,

Weighted all the responsibilities in your prime years,

Now you sit in the corner, content with the struggle,

You watch your grandchildren move around,

Carrying a smile, you remember being a mother,

You giggle with them,

Playing around, looking at their smiles,

And disappear in the corner when your son arrives,

You see the love of your son toward his wife,

You peek at your husband stranded on the other side,

Reminiscence of your own love in the past,

Now both of you sit in the corner,

Content with living like strangers,

Feeling suffocated,

Wishing you had lived some more time,

The kitchen you spent so much time,

It feels like you were outed in your own house,

Waiting for food to be served,

No more in control of satisfying your own hunger,

You watch them feed their kids,

Just like you did back in those days,

The sweets, candies and cakes,

Without inviting you, they celebrate,

The atmosphere, often hurting your senses,

This is the house you spent laughing your heart out,

Feels like it's not yours anymore,

Labelled as a burden and inconvenient to your children,

Consumed by your own dark thoughts,

The corner is your happy space,

You speak in your head but never expresses,

You believe in your upbringing,

Kids who cried of nightmares,

Teenagers, once who laughed in your presence

Held on to your hands,

Now doesn't make eye contact or feel remorse,

Confided to you about their first love,

Exaggerated the tale of their adventures,

The fight they had with their best friend

Preparing your bed for joyous tomorrow,

Wanting your children to sit beside your shadow,

You don't stop adoring their sight,

The blood in them is part of your heart,

You believe in that pure heart once they had,

You sit in the corner waiting for them to realize,

You fall asleep craving for respect and love,

Hoping one day they would appreciate the sacrifices you did!
