Dancing Shadows

Every now and then

I see you next to me,

Under the night sky

When I lay talking to the dancing shadows

Whispering those words of love, so true..

I lose my heart to you once again.

It's just the wind playing with my hair

But I feel your fingers caressing my curls

It's raining a breath away

But I am restrained by glass walls.

Soon the rain is within me

Drenching my struggling soul

Never reaching my destitute body..

My thoughts

Like an ever restless fish

Unbound..

Though so close to you

The pain in being a ghost ,

Thoughts passing through you

Never touching you.

Desperately I try to hold you

And as in a child's momentary happiness

Seeing the moon in all its glory reflected in the water in her hands

I smile..

I hide you

Like a dark secret

In the most unlikeliest of places

In forgotten aromas and unuttered words.

As time passes,

You shrink as a mere memory.

Once the row of my boat,

Now a firefly under the shimmering sun.
