Corona Virus, Covid-19

The name ‘Corona’, as we call the Virus, meaning a Crown,         

With its lethal power, has caused a total global lockdown.                

There’s nothing regal about it tho’, it’s just what it looks like;      

Spherical in shape, with the fatty outer layer, and club-like spike.

Co is short for Corona, V for Virus; it was detected in 2019,   

So Covid-19 was added. In China,

Wuhan it was first seen. It is zoonotic, as animals were primary hosts, probably bats;  

The Intermediary animals were- S

caly Anteaters or Civet cats.

When it is not on a host, it’s not living, it's absolutely impotent,          

It can’t replicate itself, or else infect, as the viruses are meant;       

Like Ebola, SARS, or MERS, they are of the very same strain,  

When it finds a host, it multiplies, trying to control-- is in vain!

Tho’ minute in size, one-thousandth in the width of an eye-lash, 

It has killed 18,000 people, and made the economy to crash!

It has attacked Princes, and paupers, the young and the old;

It can kill, but can’t be killed; such is the deadly Virus’s hold!
