COMRADESHIP!

                                        COMRADESHIP!

All of seventeen college mates, along with their better halves,

Ventured out together to commemorate their fifty years of friendship,

They flew to far off Cambodia and Vietnam with a smile on their faces,

And love, care and warmth in their hearts for each other as always!

Everything went on so well as smooth as a breeze,

As we had Pachchi, our undisputed eminent leader,

Girish, the executer of all work as planned before,

And Chunti, our experienced official photographer!

From place to place we hopped in ease as young college friends,

Behaved like youngsters and enjoyed thoroughly to the core,

Started early every day, can you imagine breakfast at 6 am?

And traveled to the tourist spots by bus, so comfortable with no jerks!

We sang songs, played dumb charades, anthakshari and spoke nonstop,

Got to know everyone as every person spoke a bit about himself/herself,

Bus journeys were enjoyable as we didn’t realize the time pass by,

So much of activity in the bus was possible as our bus was too comfortable!

First day at Siem Reap, Angkor Wat, the 7th wonder of the World, the next whole day,

We were wonder stuck by the beauty and splendor of this world heritage site,

Then from Phnom Penh we drove to Ho Chi Minh city, saw Notre Dame Catherdral,

Explored the palace and remarkable site of the war remnants museum!

After all this, on day five we went to Cu Chi tunnels, a full day tour,

We were taken aback by how bravely the Vietnamese people fought,

That too for so many years with their clever traps for the Americans,

Their tunnel system with all the basic needs showed their intelligent minds!

Then on day six, took a flight to Danang and our guide took us straight to Ho An city tour,

Hoi An City tour was too wonderful with so many lamps, lake side and shopping unlimited,

Reaching Bana hills on cable car and the Golden Bridge was a beautiful experience,

Lots of beautiful sights, lively activities and a church, plus things to buy………

Next day we went on a short cruise the whole day long,

Beautiful sea, boat rides, calcite formations, Bagodas…….

An Apiary, coconut factory, embroidery and paintings……..

Cu Chi tunnels, Veitnam local food, local people and their clothes!

All about Vietnam was beautiful to see and time with friends made it so special,

That we are planning a second trip soon, maybe a cruise trip starting from Rome,

That again for ten days together we get to explore and grow our bonds even more,

And we come back younger and fresh with innumerable memories made with effect!
