Cogito, Ergo Sum: A truth?

(Prompt 9)

I think therefore I am, is that the truth?

I was, therefore I cogitate the now.

Reflecting on the content of my youth

A time that commonsense should disallow.

Much of what has past is fabricated,

A politician redefines his quill,

The wonders of those years accentuated,

While burying the truth on old boot hill.

I think therefore I am that seems amiss,

I doubt, therefore I think, seems right to me,

The past is past and just would be remiss

To think too much, or would you disagree?

I doubt therefore I am, therefore I think

And wonder if I am the missing link.
