Where Is Beauty?
Where Is Beauty?
Beauty is in the sunrise, a softened yellow beaming at dawn
Beauty is in the sunset, a glowing orange,
Fading into dark shades of purple and deep blue
Beauty is in the northern lights, swirls of green and purple
Gleaming across the sky on a Scandinavian winter night
Beauty is in the first snowfall,
Snowflakes kissing noses and blue frozen lakes
Beauty is in autumn leaves, colourful and bright,
Washing away the green and floating through the crisp, October sky
Beauty is in a hot summer’s day, melting ice cream cones
And the glistening sea, sun-kissed skin with a sea salt touch
Beauty is on the first day of spring,
The melody of the pastel flowers singing in a meadow,
Ancient oak trees swaying in the wind,
Bees buzzing along with the breeze
Beauty is in the night sky, vast and mysterious,
A blanket of stars surrounding the deep blue
Beauty is in a rainy day, the scent of hot chocolate
Near the embers of a glowing fire,
Ttwilight’s curtain falling softly, like rainfall
Beauty is in everything in between
From golden sunshine to a weeping blue sky,
From an ocean of secrets with hidden beauty underneath
To a colourful galaxy, only some could truly admire
Beauty is in an unknown universe,
Fireflies, effervescent, dancing through a Parisian night
A small but beautiful canal running through Amsterdam,
A unique painting hanging in a museum, or in a palace in Austria
A sculpture carved by Michelangelo, in a holy church in Italy
A greek god, majestically sailing through the islands of Greece and Turkey
To some, there's no beauty
To me, it is everywhere and everything in between.
