Railway Tracks
Railway Tracks
Darkness illuminated arches of light,
Shadows throwing
Up railway tracks
Running,
pursuing Darkness
Or light?
A doorway to a haven,
A doorway from a cavern,
Leads to somewhere,
Out of nowhere!
Tunnelling
Rumbling,
Travelling,
The clickety-clack
Of the train on the tracks,
Heard from afar,
Approaching at the speed of light,
Giving everyone a fright,
Darkness
Interspersed with sunshine,
Racing by!
Racing by,
Through the underbelly
Of the earth,
A passage to tomorrow,
To burrow
Through!
The whistle echoes
In the Tunnel,
Heralding
A journey,
Headed to a destination,
Chartered
And on the course!
As it races by,
The silence, drowned
By the noise,
Fades away,
Into echoes
To Remain.
A reminder
Of many such
Journeys made,
Through darkness and light,
But
To emerge
At the point of light,
Much like life.
