Checkmated

Life

Has dealt

Me with cards

Some good some bad

But good outweighs bad

Have no complaints so far

So what if some nuts and bolts

Have become loose as I have grown old

Happy as a lark with life's twists and turns 

Have

In life

Many times

Been checkmated 

Placed against the wall

Wriggled out through gaps small

Marooned in islands of thoughts

Locked in dark cavernous tunnels

But found a light at the end of it all
