Broken Pieces
Broken Pieces
Broken relationships
Make great stories
But sad realities
The bitter doubting heart
Imagines the worst,
The conscious need to conquer
Every base emotion and distrust
To rise above prejudices
Is a daily battle
Of self against oneself
What do I fight
The circumstance
Or my ignorance?
Momentary respite
Shines through the broken barriers
A temporary uplift
From a dark abode
The silent wars we wage
Against innocent minds
Love can conquer
But it takes time
Too much time
Why is it so hard,
To bare our deepest fears,
Insecurities and needs?
Won't you understand,
The unspoken plea?
Doesn't your heart beat the same?
Don't you see or don't you want to see?
Is blindness preferable,
To understanding?
Broken shattered pieces,
Painfully glued together,
To break again?
