Beyond The Bars

For so long I have been locked in this cage,

I have lost count of my age.

All the things beyond the bars I see,

However it may be, to it I want to flee.

Freedom of fresh air is what I seek,

Breathing in here is too bleak.

I have lost the will to fight for my goal,

Only death will rest my soul.
