Beau Rêves (Sweet dreams)

I)

They say dreams speak,

I say dreams lie.

Oh! They lie like a rug, my friend.

But they lie a sweet lie.

Not the piercing sweet, mind you.

But the perfect amount.

The amount that's enough

To rip you off of the will to wake up.

II)

Sweetest slumber!

You fill my heart with the guilt I don't own.

The guilt of longing;

Longing for the treacherous beau rêves.

I do blame you!

I despise you for making me your slave.

III)

Oh boy! Sweet boy! Pretty boy!

Your eyes so familiar,

Gaze so pure.

I plunge in their brown

Almost every night.

I dive into the enigma

But why is there no bottom?

I dive deeper

And deeper

Till I'm stuck;

Stuck in a bottomless whirlpool!

IV)

Delirium can be deceitful you see.

She does magic!

Some kind of enchantment,

Glimpses of the prettiest pair of eyes

Over and over again.

She, a true fabler

And I, her prey!

Ah, slumber!

Sweet slumber!

Wicked slumber!
