Awaited Peace

The eerie peace after a tornado,

Or an emotional turmoil of mothering,

Pacification of the brutal acts against women,

Or financial insecurity interrupt my serenity,

Dissatisfaction at the workplace, a big fuss at home,

Running out of time to wallow in solitude tranquility,

Bills, payments, deadlines, eleventh-hour preparations,

Where can I find my lost amity?

Sitting beside the seashore waves hovering,

Watching the penurious play tipcat,

No reminders, no timetable, no strife, no ifs, and buts,

I finally found that awaited eternal peace.
