And This Too Shall Pass

You told me that moments were to be temporary,

And all times were to surpass,

But you never informed me to the fullest,

Of how desolation was to be passed.

 Is it that woes were made up of steel,

And the pleasure was made of glass?

And is this due to which my pleasure died out,

And my sorrowful days haven’t yet passed?

 You occupied my prior and eroded my future,

Leaving me unable to an impasse,

You’ve departed my mind; not my heart,

Leaving me forlorn to pass.

 Good moments were the ones I shaped,

Bad moments were those who couldn’t last,

Yet, my soul keeps chanting; saying-

“This too shall pass”
