Am I Free?

I ask myself and thyself,

Tell me am I free?

If you don’t have the response,

Then give it a thought.

Can I walk solitary along the dark paths in the night?

Can I trust the humans existing in this world to be alright?

Who will help me out with these questions?

Is anyone there with prompts to relax my indigestion?

My country is free land,

My pride is my Motherland.

A token of love and sacrifice,

Which we cannot bear to keep and yes, I do apologize.

I am pained to see a child go work,

Not justified at this age who seems to overwork.

Have mercy on them and set them free,

This is what my country’s martyrs have given us and we all agree.

What accomplishments have we gained?

By captivating the humans in pain.

Is this the meaning of true independence?

Here I present my lamenting note filled with plaintive sentences.
