Always and Tomorrow

Always and Tomorrow

I came here to fly, you made me stay.

I waited for love, you pushed me away.

As my heart bled,

you fed on my sorrows.

Promising me a series of unending tomorrows.

The first scar was out of scorn.

The second was when injustice won.

Third was in the name of fun.

And with the fourth, the story had just begun.

My pain was your pleasure.

My tears your treasure.

Your muse is me marked black and blue,

If we were to ever interchange our souls,

I wish you would feel it too.

The flowers lied,

I asked them if I would die,

Would I ever not fly?

They denied.

Though, I died.

I died when you judged the body where my soul resides.

I died when you judged me from my waist size.

I died when you laughed at my color,

Said I was hideous like no other.

I lost the fight.

My fight.

Just like how I lost my everything to you.

Because I was someone unlike the likes of you.

Nevertheless, I gladly lived the way I wanted to.

And when I lost, it was not because I had to.

They say dead girls tell no tales.

As if they care of the living in the first place.

Words are mightier than a sword.

My sacrifice was a message to them all.

I pass with a smile on my face,

Not a weakness that weighs me down,

But a weapon that elevates my being.

I stand here, looking down on you. For once, I'm in light and you're in the shadows.

Does the darkness comfort you?

You're crying.

Your tears nothing more than a reflection of your dishonest self.

Remorse isn't an emotion that you feel.

Maybe suffering will teach you otherwise.

Pain isn't something I would wish upon you,

But you left yourself with no other choices to turn to.

Because I am a woman, dead or alive.

My pride is my kindness,

So let it thrive.

Don't push me down and choke me on life.

I want to live, not just survive.

My dreams mustn't be considered unimportant.

I do too deserve the best of everything.

So let it be a lesson to you,

If you live not with love,

Then let go.

Because my fall elevates me.

I will still rise.

Always and Tomorrow.
