Aliens Have Been Here?

So, many people claim; to point to the pyramids

And say “How?” Huge stone monoliths on Easter Island

And say, “Wow!”. It’s here, in front of us; the evidence

The evidence! Can you not see the obvious?

If that giant cylindrical object on my front lawn

Is anything to go by? No. I was kidding.

You just wait, they say, you just wait

I wait [impatiently], is it here yet? Is it here yet?

Frivolity aside, there are serious questions

lone? Will they like us or enslave us

Or will we enslave them? There are historical precedents

Can we, shock, bewilderment and wonder, be friends?

We don’t know. It’s all conjecture, make-believe

Did I mention that giant cylindrical object on my front lawn?

I have? Bother! Maybe it’s time we start investing in ourselves
