After The War
After The War
All was lost, blood was shed.
People were howling to find their loved ones dead.
A powerful aura enclosed the place,
Vanished the joyous, smiling face.
Hardly any life remained anymore,
Dread haunted the hearts to the core,
There was chaos all around they had to hide,
Despair, thousands of innocents died,
Explosives damaged everywhere,
Collapsed all the buildings, smoke stuffed the air.
Pieces and scraps were in every nook,
Nothing happy and bright to look-
People mourned, digging tombs,
Coffins were made, soldiers with gloom,
While in a whole different town,
People celebrated, the soldiers with a crown,
Fireworks lit, for they had won!
The faces beamed with joy and fun!
But after the war peace always arrives,
This is why they say a pen is mightier than a knife.
