Aching For You
Aching For You
Where are you? Please tell me now.
I can’t hear, a bit louder, please.
You swore that you wouldn’t leave.
You said betrayal was not
Your kind of game but you showed
Me, that you’re a good liar.
My eyes were red in your wait.
Hopeless, lonesome, agonized.
Did you ever care to ask?
You said we were meant to be.
Has fate changed you or just me?
It doesn’t feel like old times.
My spirit latches onto
The remnants of what we were,
Keeping those glowing embers.
Were those false assurances
Worth my contentment and trust,
Or my every bit of hope?
It isn’t easy for me,
To get over fictitious worlds,
And unreal counterfeit love.
The scars you gave me went deep.
It will be hard to heal them.
But I will never give up.
Now, I ask for one answer,
Where you lost your footing and,
Pushed me into the water.
