A World Of Silence
A World Of Silence
I look around me and what do I see,
A world where streets are empty,
That once was bustling with human activity
Now confined to our homes, words like:
Positive, negative, quarantine, and corona,
Define our lives, have become viral.
As we wait to free ourselves from the virus.
It has no discrimination rich or poor,
Every one it throws under the bus.
We wait for it to leave us and go,
Leave us it shall one day.
A terrible price we shall all pay
As we put back pieces of our life together.
Counting the lives we lost to the virus
Of a mother, sister, father, friend, brother.
Reconcile ourselves to their absence,
A world without them, a world full of sorrow.
Till then I look around me and see,
A world where streets are empty,
Once bustling with human activity.
Now no more noise or cacophony.
But living in a cocoon, that's my home.
Sans communication, sans touching,
Surrounded by a world of silence.
