A Woman I Know
A Woman I Know
She wakes up each morning on a fresh debate,
She longs for eternal bliss.
She walks the alleys in fervent hope,
And a light she witnesses in her dreams.
Never too near, for, a sheath of fear,
Shall engulf her fragile being.
Coiled she dwells, tears swell,
In solitude, she resents her fellowship.
Counting her stars, she goes afar,
Fights she hard, her guile.
Bold and strong, stomping along,
Out she boots the weeds.
In her world the astute matter
Few she knew the antics
Precise she spoke, hearts she broke
Braving all odds she fought
Bright she smiles, hearty she laughs,
Humble her bearings and stance.
Ever watchful, deeply faithful,
Be sure; she will take her chance.
Risen from the ground, raised to bear,
Break each norm she will.
Needle and thread, silken spread,
May light’s speed bless her sprint.
Her resilience knows no bound,
Her mettle of pure gold.
Overcome, she will every stumble.
For, devoted is her name’s meaning.
