A Truth Or Two

A Truth Or Two

In life, I've learned, a truth or two.

No betrayal is surprising or new.

All the promises that seem to bind,

Will stab you back and rob you blind.

Mercy and regret are angelic traits.

Nothing but deceit comes to he who waits.

Of all the bitter truths, you must know,

You don't always reap what you sow.

The good, the mercy, are both one-way streets.

Foolish is he who trusts anyone he meets.

The friendship they say doesn't cost a penny.

Will kill you from inside and look for scars, if any.

The hurt is always more than what meets the eye.

The devil watches you destroy yourself and heaves a sigh.

The love they say will bring you peace.

Will shatter your soul and put you back piece by piece.

Only in the hope of further pain,

Does deceit open your eyes and render you sane.

In life, I've learned a truth or two.

Sufferings are thousands but suffer a few.

In life, I've learned a truth or two.

Open your mind, and you shall too.
