I've Grown Up to be Proud

I've grown up to be proud.

Proud of who I've grown up into.

Into this body that once felt like a stranger.

Stranger than those that were actually strange.

Strange how it was mine, and yet never felt so. 

So loudly I screamed to be let out of it.

It never occurred to me, that peace exists somewhere inside and not out.

Out of my mind, I was, to love not, who I am.

Am I now who I wanted to be, or have I just discovered that I've always been it?

It has changed my life, being the receiver for once, of the love I always kept giving.

Giving it, I still am, but not till there's none left for me.
