A Quiet Last Time

A Quiet Last Time

Silently she heard the sound of the rain tapping on the window glass,

Fancy knives, to hide her griefs deep under those scars.

Caught in cyclones, it felt like she was breathing her last,

Smiling from her seat, she asked "Life, can we restart?"

A couple of dozen sacred letters, all piled into one.

Distant dreams on her side, all unlived and left undone.

She wore her favorite dress, took one last good look.

How could she have let that young girl, go off the hook.

She took a dive into the unknown, hoping not to fall,

Thought he'd still be there, catching her once and for all.

A web of misconceptions and a chain of unmet expectations,

She decided this life wasn't her destination.

So she stood up, her breathing all revved up, leaving the photo albums on the floor ,

Smiled her last, knowing today she'll break chains and end all of her wars.

Closed her eyes on the terrace, praying one last time,

And ignoring all the second thoughts, jumped down deeper into the infinite.

She had fallen, and people around finally cared enough

Familiar faces, chanting "What drove her life to be this rough?"

Her broken face had a smile, like she knew already what they were seeing.

While one had met her end, another waited in her favourite jeans.
