A Promise

She taught me a new definition of friendship,

It was she who gave meaning to our relationship.

At times I wonder how will I express my gratitude,

Or maybe the love enclosed in my heart

Never knew I would meet her,

I wish there were some intimation prior.

So that I could at least make myself capable,

And worthy of deserving this relation.

‘You’ complete me in so many ways,

When you aren’t there around me, I dread those days.

Pragmatics tell it’s a time bound relation,

But the heart just can’t have enough of you.

I just wanna make one thing clear,

I will always be with you Oh Dear!

I dreamt of our grandchildren fighting with each other,

Hopefully you’ll tolerate me this farther…
