Tragedy Fantasy Children

A Lucid dream

A Lucid dream

When I look up the night sky, and connect the stars of dusk,

I see photographic films of faded mnemonics,

Of the phase of life, that was lived with love.

Closed my eyes and there was a chime,

Through the chaos, heard the sweet giggles of delight.

Vision of the actual plot of the movie appeared,

Where we blithely created scenes for all our life years.

It was a rainy day, when we snuck out with the perfect pretext,

Just so we could have ludicrous conversations before our period next.

We were sitting in a circle with our clique, playing bottle flip.

The bottle stood upright and, we felt we had accomplished our greatest win.

Then there was our class jester, who’s stupid puns,

Made our day, instantly fun.

Soon, it was the Noel season and we were planning for the fete,

Where we danced and our smiles gleamed, brighter than the Yule lights on the gate.

Was running after my amigo as his annoying demeanour asked for a beating,

Which led us to the ground where I realized now, we are just chasing with the crowd.

.

I stopped and I looked back.

Saw the trail of memories on the photographic films,

Which now for this phase had no refill.

Waiting in the corridors were our constants then,

Now it’s either us or them.

The bell rang again and I opened my eyes,

“Oh, it was a lucid dream.” I said with a sigh.

Realised how It’s was our quotidian life then,

Now, it’s only “remember when?”
