A Letter From The Sky

Hello there,

I am the Ozone layer!

We haven't met, have we?

I am so high above the level of the sea!

Do you know?

I protect you from hellish tomorrow!

If I am not here,

Seriously, you have none to care for!

You can be fried raw,

Before you are overcome with awe!

The harmful radiation of the sun,

Can damage you, oh human!

And render your life on this planet,

Akin to being lifeless and inorganic!

I had been punctured,

Depleted and ruptured!

But now I am healing,

Now I am shielding,

Now I am better,

Since last, when I penned a letter! 

But oh human, have mercy!

Greed made you crazy!

Dare not commit hara-kiri,

Thinking of you, I get all teary!

I have been here before you existed,

I shall be hereafter you are gone!

I have seen generations busted,

And witnessed species buried like a bone!

You are just like them,

You are just another species,

Dare not invite the mayhem,

You can be obliterated any second!

Protect the environment,

Lessen the smoke,

Invent a green supplement,

Unleash masterstroke!
