A Home For A Night
A Home For A Night

Irrationally so- my feet neared a place
Where waited a fairy with all her charm
Where I only could dream my being
Was in real I entering
Just a room it was but with her
Just it won't be to call it just a room
A world within this world
But that which seemed not so
Where my heart sensed belongingness
There were growing many things then
There and within
But something died there too
A part of us- Our hesitating selves
With every sip of comfort we drank
Set loose some parts of us
And, then
Then
The potential potion perfectly played its part
Listings turned into whispers
and whispers into matured speech
Unborn talks stagnated in just thoughts
Started floating in words
As if our hearts lay not within but on our palms
Just like the sea that floats between the shores
The lyrics of forgotten episodes
The cherished and the despised
The shrouded smiles
The concealed cries
Were sung with no refrain
Privileged glimpses of her past
Of what I overnight became a part
Some touched and some pierced my heart
My secrets that my eyes already told
Without thought emanated from my lips
Carrying, this time, not the stench of despair
But an aroma of memory
Unthought questions were asked
and long-sought answers were found
An exchange of past-both sour and sweet
Never been a moment in life half so profound
Her Eyes- Half-open, half shut
Half sleepy, half wake
Oozing trust
Her smile spreading calm
Her lying next at ease
Her little responses and abundant hums
That night I couldn't sleep
But watch...
Watch my dream sleep next to me
And the mystery unraveled
With every step, time moved further
I see a balloon with the air of love swell
Wherein you and I will forever dwell
That's life and its very purpose
To love and love and love
From cradle to cremation
As my feet parted her door,
I saw a depiction that lay far beyond
Beyond the confinement of words
Beyond my cup of expectations
Beyond the domains of physicality
Beyond the realms of reality
-A home for a night
And a girl worth every wait.
