A Doctor's Perspective

A Doctor's Perspective

Lockdowns were imposed,

People were shut in their homes,

But I got to go out,

And that is what makes me shout,

Corpses lying in front of me,

Thousands of crying families,

People losing humanity,

I still dress up for fraternity.

I walk on to an environment complete dull,

Handling questions of survival,

Vaccine comes as a consolation,

Saturation dropping asks for intubation,

Struggling to tell the family of the dead,

That their loved one's body is on the deathbed,

Anxiety, Depression, and Groan,

Everything hits when alone.

Sometimes I want to run away,

But for your lives, I stay,

It is not a debt that you can repay,

All you can do for me is stay home and pray.

Now after the story you heard,

Do you think staying at home is absurd?
