A Classy Affair
A Classy Affair
Surrounded by her friends, he saw her standing by the library,
Taking a deep breath, he came upon them silently;
Approaching her had never been an easy task,
For the question in his mind, he was afraid to ask!!
Vivacious, sprightly, she always had been,
But he had noticed her only when they entered their teens;
School affairs were always considered flighty,
For him, however, this was not something to be taken lightly!
Her name was engraved on his heart,
The last pages of his notebooks resembled some abstract art;
Most of the study time was spent refining his craft,
Though it was in fact, just the name of his sweetheart!
Maths was boring and so was chemistry,
His hands turned to the pages last incessantly;
Pouring over his never-ending doodles breathlessly,
He felt her absence even more desperately.
But today after much deliberation he had gathered his nerve,
Talk to her he would, to whatever end it would serve;
To open up his heart to her was his resolve,
It was an equation that only she could solve!!
She heard him out and said with a twinkle in her eye,
"On the cusp of starting college, it's time for us to say good-bye!
But you never know what future for us holds;
Why don't we wait and see how our story unfolds?"
